The Beginning
This will be my blog for my 5th summer on staff at Philmont Scout Ranch, one of my favorite places in the whole world. I will be Camp Director at French Henry, and look forward to a great staff, an amazing camp, and some funny campers. Stay tuned for adventures and anecdotes; I hope they are worth reading! :)

I worked at French Henry in 1976, and I wish our program had been "real" that summer. I hope that the tradition has changed, because in our time, our whole focus was PRBS and entertainment including the telling of pure fiction as fact. That might work at Disneyland, but not Philmont. A true historical site does not need embellishment in order to fascinate the people who go to it.
